Austin Bakker Angelastro is an up-and-coming author who loves inspiring others through storytelling. His journey as a writer truly took off in early 2023 when he began using ChatGPT to bring his imaginative ideas to life. His first book, The Undersea Adventure, follows two high school sweethearts, Austin and Austinia, as they dive into a magical treasure hunt beneath the sea. With a writing style influenced by Harry Potter, A Series of Unfortunate Events, and his favorite movies, Austin has created a voice all his own.
What makes Austin truly unique is that he’s known as the world’s most romantic author. He believes that everyone—yes, even the bad guys and bad gals—deserves a true love. In his stories, everyone is either a couple or a “precouple,” a sweet word he uses to describe young best friends destined for love. His belief that love and connection are for everyone shines through in every tale he writes.
Since publishing his first book, Austin has launched multiple creative projects. He’s currently working on two new books. One is a special kids’ version of The Undersea Adventure that includes a video format so children can watch and read along on a phone or tablet. The second is a deeply personal story based on Austin’s own childhood—but with a magical twist: in this version, Austin is a good human-wizard. Set in his beloved hometown of Westport, Connecticut, the story captures his imagination, memories, and dreams. Both books will include sing-along songs and be brought to life in video form.
To make these new projects even more magical, Austin is collaborating with two talented illustrators: Jennina from the Philippines and Lilianna Giaume, a gifted artist and video creator based in Westport, CT. Lilianna and Austin combine hand-drawn illustrations with AI-powered visuals to create a whimsical and immersive experience for young readers.
From a young age, Austin worked hard to strengthen his language skills at The Foundation School in Connecticut. That dedication, along with the help of technology, has helped him blossom into a writer who inspires others to believe in their story. The Undersea Adventure, available online and as an audiobook, is just the beginning of Austin’s magical journey.
